In 2012, Lausanne is an external player. This autumn, the Kunsthaus Aarau is organising an important exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the prestigious Manor Prize, which rewards Swiss artists with the collaboration of art museums from 12 cantons.

The work of 46 artists have thus been chosen by 6 curators to participate in an exhibition entitled “La jeunesse est un art” (“Youth is an art”). 11 artists represent Lausanne, the largest delegation after Zurich, which counts 13. This strong contingency signals the vigour of the Canton of Vaud’s capital and the very high quality of life that these very different artists find. Claudia Comte, Stéphane Dafflon, Philippe Decrauzat, Aloïs Godinat, Laurent Kropf,

Damian Navarro, Sandrine Pelletier, Guillaume Pilet, Annaïk Lou Pitteloud, Anne Rochat and Denis Savary are however just the spearheads of an important larger generation of artists. As goodwill ambassadors, they will secure Lausanne’s position in the contemporary art scene. The best way of celebrating a contemporary Lausanne in 2012 is to be in Aarau between 1st September and 18th November!
