Located just a stone’s throw from the lake, this art space gets its name from its original size: the cubic metre window of a studio transformed into an exhibition showcase. 1m3 has now grown, literally and figuratively, hosting exhibitions in a 100m3 space. Defined as a “structure for independent reflection” by its organisers – Benjamin Valenza, Stephane Barbier Bouvet, Jeanne Graff, Adrien Missika and Josef Hannibal – 1m3 has taken on several different identities since 2006: a studio, an exhibition space, a conference centre, a party venue, and a publishing company. Previously exhibited artists include: Isabelle Cornaro, Delphine Coindet, Marta Riniker Radich, Destroy All Monsters, Guillaume Pilet, Lili Reynaud Dewar, Charles and Ray Eames, Gilles Furtwaengler, Cyprien Gaillard, Aloïs Godinat, Raphaël Julliard, Gunnar Meier, and Emanuel Rossetti.
