The gallery was founded at the beginning of the 1980s. A member of the Swiss association of modern and contemporary art galleries, the Rosa Turetsky gallery has focussed since the beginning on developing an exchange platform where Swiss and European artists compare materials, concepts and use of space. In the first decade of the new millennium, the challenge was dialogue between different generations of artists. New technologies and a new vision of a globalised world transformed the exhibition space into a space for proposals, exchanges and critical views. In November 2005, Rosa Turetsky opened a new space to become part of the Quartier des Bains synergy in Geneva, participating in the movement to gather contemporary art around MAMCO. For this new project, she created PIECEUNIC based on a demanding principal: a single piece in the exhibition space.
