In 2000, mudac succeeded to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and settled at the foot of Lausanne cathedral. Since then, it has become the world -class Lausanne institution when it comes to contemporary design and applied arts. Designed as a space for encounters and debates between the various players in this field, the museum is also open to living arts (dance, music, theatre) and intends to be a platform for exchanges between the arts. The museum’ s collections in particular hold an extensive catalogue of contemporary art glass and jewellery. Besides the six or seven exhibitions programmed each year, various items from the museum’ s collections are shown, and other events organised (lectures, visits and trips). Some artists shown in the past: Stefan Sagmeister, Zep, Philippe Barde, Christian Gonzenbach, Adrien Rovero, Jörg Boner, the brothers Freitag. Free admission on the first Saturday of each month
