Musée d’Art et d’Histoire

The museum is located at the heart of the Old Town and is one of the largest in Switzerland. Its collection of 650,000 objects is partly exhibited over five floors dedicated to applied arts, fine arts and archaeology. Each year, the museum also presents ten temporary exhibitions, ranging from Picasso to Roger Pfund, or even Akhenaton. Over about 7000 m2, the Musée d’art et d’histoire invites visitors to travel through time. Paintings, sculptures, historical rooms and objects, musical instruments, etc. are all witnesses of the evolution of art and daily life over several millennia.
